If you want to talk about quality you've come to the right person! LAKSKSALKS everyone loves high quality files but sometimes I do crazy things for files that not even my friends can do. such as my paid weverse files. I always want the original quality and with screen record we don't have that, so I literally gave my email and password to someone on a forum so they can download my files from my weverse account in the original quality. this person just said "hi, I know how to download paid files from weverse using codes, do you want me to do it for you?" and I, who don't know this person, said "omg please, thank you so much for doing this for me". 😅😭 also download torrent files from suspicious websites. the list is long LKASKLAKSAS but I can give you some tips on how to always find good quality files, at least files that are free or easier to find.

try to join in exclusive forums like kpop24hrs or a harder like jpopsuki and avistaz. I had an account on jpopsuki, but maintaining an account there is very hard for me, I am someone who doesn't keep files saved on my laptop. there is a forum called "torrent invites" where some people go there and offer invitations or even exclusive forum accounts. I got a jpopsuki invitation account for a friend there. check torrent invites forum if you want an invitation to another forum! now youtube videos. to download youtube videos I use 4k video downloader. but before downloading the videos you can also try to change the format of the video to see if the quality changes too. sometimes videos in mkv format have better quality, so it's always good to check if the quality changes.

I always do that on bangtantv like bangtanbomb or the episodes videos which most of the time are always only uploaded on youtube. BUT we have some videos that are not only uploaded on yt but also on instagram and tiktok~~~~ and this is where we win heheheh~~ if a video is uploaded on these three platforms ALWAYS download it from tiktok. 99% of the time, videos on tiktok have a thousand times better quality than those on youtube and instagram. or you can also download the video on these three platforms so you can compare and see which quality is better, but I'm sure that tiktok's quality will always be the best. here's an amazing example, jin video that I giffed earlier.

first i only saw people sharing the instagram link but i went and searched if the instagram account also had a tiktok account and BAM they did 🥹 I downloaded the video from instagram and the quality was poor:

when instagram doesn't always make videos available in 1080p, most videos on tiktok are 1080p. just go and search "where to download instagram videos online" "where to download tiktok videos online" and open a website that does that and that's it.

my advice is to always look for other platforms they may have uploaded the files to! like for example jeongguk vogue photoshoot. many people thought that the videos were only uploaded on twitter and instagram but no, they were also uploaded on facebook! always look for accounts on facebook as well. but facebook is weird… from what I understand they won't upload all the quality at the same time so sometimes it takes a while for a video to be in 1080p there. another thing, sometimes they will also change the quality lol. for example, when I downloaded jeongguk photoshoot there the highest quality available was 2k but now it only has 1080p.

and now free websites where we can download high quality bangtan files are namuspromised, sharemania, soowoozoooo and ouranxingg.

there are others but I feel like these are the ones who always share high quality files.

Some very smart people yesterday (@isaksbestpillow and @nieves-de-sugui) wrote about yesterday's announcements of GMMTV adapting Japanese stories like Ossan's Love and Kieta Hatsukoi/My Love Mix-Up. I haven't seen Ossan's Love yet (and I WILL watch it, once I'm done with the OGMMTVC, because that's my due diligence/completionist side talking, ha).

Generally speaking, there's excitement and/or confused discontent about why Thailand is increasing its adaptations of well-known Japanese manga and dorama properties -- particularly about My Love Mix-Up.

Other very smart people, like Dr. Thomas Baudinette, a BL scholar, have written about what exactly fans *should* be comparing when these shows come out -- that the Thai live-action dramas are most often based on Thai literary adaptations of the original Japanese manga series that provided the material for the Japanese live-action doramas.

Au Kornprom, the director of the upcoming GMMTV Thai version of My Love Mix-Up, and Fourth Nattawat and Gemini Norawit, the lead actors of the Thai drama adaption, clarified these points as well.

I think all entities involved are aware of the confused discontent about what's happening here, and I want to unwind on it for one hot second -- because I myself am still relatively new to the Thai BL fandom, but my entrée to all of this was from Japanese BL doramas a few years ago.

Check the Kieta Hatsukoi tag on Tumblr, and we see all manner of different opinions about how the Thai adaptation will stand up to the Japanese live-action dorama original with Michieda Shunsuke and Meguro Ren. Same on Twitter. Michi and Meguro brought an incredibly distinct, controlled, comedic, and empathic perspective to Aoki's queer revelation, and Ida's inquisitive demi identity.

I deeply appreciate Dr. Baudinette, Au, Fourth, and Gem for clarifying where GMMTV is coming from with this adaptation -- that this adaptation stems from the Thai adaptation of the original KH manga.

But I wanna offer a thought, again as someone new to the Thai BL fandom. BLs across Asia make up only a TINY slice of the massive amount of dramas that Asia have to offer. For those of us that stay close to Asian queer content: many of us have seen a LOT of shows over many countries. And we can't help but to compare shows! That's comparative media literacy for you. If the stories are similar, if the stories stem from the same original source -- well, we can't help but compare.

I want to also say that Japan and Thailand are going to have different - maybe VASTLY different -- ways of managing elements of the KH story, such as Aoki/Atom's queer revelation, and Ida/Kongthap's demi identity. Japan and Thailand are different countries -- OF COURSE they are going to have different socio-national lenses on these identify factors.

What got me in my heart when I watched Kieta Hatsukoi last year was the EMPATHY, the skilled and pointed empathy in which Michi and Meguro played their Aoki and Ida. Japan and Thailand are just DIFFERENT when it comes to kissing, love, and sex. It won't be fair to compare their international lenses to each other as holding up to each other in art.

But what I don't want to do is invalidate the broader fandom's experience of how we saw Michi, Meguro, and the Japanese BL world from interpreting these incredible characteristics that made the Japanese version of Kieta Hatsukoi such a deep show to watch. Was it cute? Was it fluffy? I'd actually argue: NO. It was communicated in a uniquely Japanese way. (I can't find it, but there's a TikTok of a group of Americans dancing to what they think is a Japanese fluffy pop song -- when the lyrics are actually about suicide. Cultural competency is always important for all of us to keep in mind as we watch Asian shows from country to country.)

And I also want to point out, speaking for myself, as I continue to burrow my way into the Japanese, Korean, and Thai BL fandoms -- that, once upon a time, there were WAY FEWER Asian queer shows to watch. So if you were looking for queer shows from Asia? You were LIKELY watching shows from ALL the Asian countries producing BLs. Thus the massive fandom overlap from people who HAVE seen the Japanese Kieta Hatsukoi/My Love Mix-Up, TO the people who WILL see GMMTV's version.

I absolutely heed and RESPECT where Au and Dr. Baudinette are coming from in specifying from where the GMMTV adaptation will come from.

But in regards to comparative perspectives on what Japan has produced, and what Thailand WILL produce? I truly don't think we can avoid the comparisons. I don't. I do very much wish for a broader, smarter, more intellectual comparative media dialectic between Japan and Thailand. But sometimes, us fans just wanna squee and TALK about our beloved shows. I squeed at the Japanese version of Kieta Hatsukoi because that show communicated complicated factors of queer identity with comedy and empathy. That's a particularly Japanese tack on producing BL art.

Because the BL fandom has had only a set amount of shows year over year, of course, many fans who WILL watch GMMTV's version of My Love Mix-Up WILL have watched the Japanese dorama version. Because, because! As I said before, the amount of queer media from Asia has always been smaller than het material.

Au Kornprom is a HERO to me. He's given me Bad Buddy, he's given me Theory of Love, he's given me A Tale of Thousand Stars, Moonlight Chicken, Still 2gether, all shows I fucking LOVE and LIVE WITH, I'd SLEEP WITH THESE SHOWS like a Nong Nao doll if I could.

There is no one, expect for Aof Noppharnach, that I trust more with this adaptation.

But I did just want to say my piece about the validity of comparisons and comparative media literacy here. Because there's no avoiding comparing the two dramas -- there isn't. Because Kieta Hatsukoi was so, SO good, and we do very much indeed hope that the key elements of that story are honored.

If they're not? Then we will learn, through the GMMTV version, what Au and his Thai team honor in the story, and our perspectives will be broadened. I recognize that the GMMTV team may value different elements. But I also respect the feeling of nostalgia for KH, and what we loved about that show, and how Japan communicates the elements that that nation values, too. We just can't help but compare, and my biggest wishes are that:

1) Fans watch the Japanese version of Kieta Hatsukoi before the premiere of the GMMTV, to understand where us on the comparative sides will be coming from, and

2) That Au, Fourth, and Gem slay in their usual way, because no matter what, we will still love and appreciate them for being THEM.

My fingers are BIG crossed, and my hopes are BIG up. This is just a great opportunity for those of us who are curious to take a respectful moment to compare Japanese and Thai drama art together, and to have a lot of fun doing it.

↪ I don't post on social media much. I usually go through phases in which I'll post a few times a week, but anxiety about how I'm perceived will lead me to delete them later. I've always feared social interaction, but it's almost scarier interacting online than it is in person. People usually filter themselves in a real life setting, making sure everyone sees them in a certain way, usually a good one. Online however, we have walls we can hide behind. No need for a filter! Whenever I was an avid user of Twitter (It's funny how nobody calls it X) I saw a lot of people being blatantly nasty towards each other. It didn't matter what the post was about, someone always found something to argue about. Thankfully I never experienced any negativity directed towards myself, but I saw a lot of it underneath any post with more than 1000 likes. It really started to mess with my head. Eventually it would make its way over to my page. Are people really this mean when there are no consequences? Certainly not most people I'd like to think. After that I realized I was just on a really bad platform. I mean, I was constantly filling my head with negativity. So, I did the right thing and deactivated my Twitter account. It honestly feels really good to not have to worry about that account anymore. In all honesty I was only on Twitter to keep up appearances. The same goes for my old Instagram account which I also deleted for similar reasons. I did not have a lot of followers, nor did I make any meaningful posts, so it didn't hurt that much to deactivate.

↪ Now, I know I can't escape ALL negativity just by deleting some social media accounts. By limiting the amount of platforms I'm on and being cautious of the people and posts I'm interacting with though, I can at least remedy the situation. So why am I posting here? I basically just said I'm scared of being perceived and I hate social interaction. Really, I do want to be perceived, just by the right people. That's why I'm here. Tumblr (in my opinion) has always had a really great community surrounding it. You see, I've been on and off of Tumblr for most of my teenage years and adult life. Always deactivating but also always coming back. I think I always left because nobody I know is on Tumblr, but I also always came back because nobody I know is on Tumblr. I have a hard time being true to myself in front of people that know me. Here, though, nobody knows me. I'm gonna do and say what I want. This blog is really all about me being me whether or not people are watching.

Anime North 2024 Blog

Day 2

It rained. A lot.

But even so, I had such an incredible time!

The original plan for today was to wear my Bleach cosplay, walk around the convention, maybe go to a panel, and then hit up the Bleach photoshoot at 5pm.

But since I was staying so close to the convention, I decided to wear BOTH my cosplays that day! That way, I could go to the Zelda photoshoot at 12pm as well.

The weather had slightly different plans.

It was a light rain when we left the hotel. Luckily, I remembered to bring an umbrella to Toronto so I could keep my makeup from being washed off. Little did I know that, when it came time for the photoshoot, the light rain would become a torrential downpour.

There were still quite a few of us who showed up to the Zelda photoshoot, and luckily, we were able to hide beneath a few trees from the rain and get a few photos in! It was such a wonderful time despite the rain. There was a raffle, there were four people dressed up from the Yiga Clan who brought bananas with them, and overall everyone looked absolutely stunning in their cosplays!

My dress got soaked but fortunately, my phone and merchandise did not! I am so glad I had my umbrella!

I met up with my friends back at the hotel. We got all dolled up and went to lunch! Then I missed a panel I thought I might like to go to, but it was alright because I'd already gotten to enjoy a panel with similar vibes from the day before, so it wasn't devastating or anything (and I really enjoyed my lunch too, haha)!

Then I got dressed in my Bleach cosplay and headed back to the convention!

This is the only gripe I had about the entire weekend. I had to get my weapon checked, and in order to do so, I had to walk SO FAR! Weapons check was not in the area it previously had been. Instead, they moved it to a completely different building (and it was on the far end of that building, too)! I'm glad I left well over an hour before the photoshoot was scheduled to begin, because it took me that long to find Weapon's Check and then walk back to where I started in order to get to the photoshoot.

The photoshoot, however, was an absolute BLAST! It was so much fun to see all the Bleach cosplayers! And I was also just so happy to be surrounded by people who shared a passion for the same anime I did. Also it was hilarious whenever the organizer called up a group of people (Quincy, Hollow, etc) and all the Ichigo cosplayers went "so us too, right?"

I had so much fun!

It's also really cool to see all the photos from the shoot pop up online!

There's only two issues: 1, I wish someone had reminded me to pull my mask down because I think I kept it up 80% of the time (oooops). And 2, I keep finding pieces of myself but nothing complete (so far! Lmao)

I think this is HILARIOUS, by the way. No hard feelings at all! My friends have called me Exodia. So we've got the head and the left arm, now I just need to find the other pieces! LOL

Anyway, after that was the Shonen Jump photoshoot!

And that was also amazing! It's so nice to have all the fans of different shows come together and cheer each other on instead of bashing each other's shows (looking at you, Twitter). I also saw that the One Piece photoshoot was moved to this later time because they got rained out, so I'm happy that it was sunny by 5pm so that they could get a chance to shine!

Overall, another very fun day! I did some shopping and met some wonderful people.

Chloe’s Arc vs Felix’s Arc

Chloe and Felix share many similarities as characters and yet their stories have completely different outcomes and I want to try and analyze why. I think both of them share similar stories with different outcomes to show how different actions taken by similar people can have drastically different results

On a surface level it may seem like Felix and Chloe aren’t similar, and yes they do have many differences between them that make them different people entirely, but they both have many of the same types of background and suffered similar kinds of abuse and developed negative mindsets about the world because of it

They are both rich children both to influential families that shaped their lives. Each of them had an abusive parent but in different ways: Chloe’s mother abandoned her and her father indulged her bad behavior to avoid being abused himself. Felix’s father abused Felix mentally and emotionally and even Physically since he would use Felix’s miraculous to control what he what physically couldn’t and couldn’t do. We don’t know about how his mother raised him, but I saw an interesting post on Twitter analyzing a moment from the play Felix and Kagami did (it’s linked somewhere on Twitter but I’m having trouble finding it so I can’t give credit where it’s due). The bunny that Felix holds at one point is supposed to represent Felix’s mother (there’s a screenshot somewhere of Amelie wearing a rabbit mask) and the moment where the arm is torn represents that his father abused her as well. This may have caused her to be indulgent of her son to try and make him happy, especially after her husband died, since they were both finally free of his abuse and cruelty

They both have incredible power and financial means as well as a warped view of the world due to their upbringing. Chloe sees everyone as beneath her cause that’s how she feels better about herself and how her mother acted and encouraged Chloe to act when she was actually around. Felix suffered abuse from someone who had power over him, developing a cold and closed off personality, putting others down as well, unwilling to allow himself to open himself up to be used and abused again, causing him to look down on others cause he was trying to protect himself (and his mother).

They also both tried to Sabotage Adrien’s relationship’s at some point too. Chloe tried so she could have Adrien, her “prince,” all to herself and could torture Marinette; Felix did this for unknown reasons but I hypothesize it was a combination of trying to get HawkMoth’s attention by making Adrien’s friends angry enough to be akumatized and out of jealousy that Adrien seemed to have loving friends. Or maybe in his head he also thought he was protecting Adrien from people who were just out to use him rather than actually cared about him, since he never really had any friends of his own and couldn’t believe they were genuine (but that’s my own headcannon, there’s no proof of it).

Adrien also both gave them second chances. In Chloe’s case, it started in Season 2 in Despair Bear. Then later in Derision after he learned the Hell she put Marinette through the years before in school (we’ll come back to that one in a bit). In Felix’s debut episode, Adrien did confront him on what he did, and forgave Felix when he apologized, but only after he made it clear that what Felix did was NOT OK and would not forgive him if he did it again.

Here’s where their story lines start to divulge: what they do after Adrien calls each of them out. They both take different routes. Chloe still bullied Marinette’s and the others and tries to keep Adrien to herself (which really only actively starts up again after the Season 3 finale). In the season 4 episode Gabriel Agreste, she plans to reveal to Gabriel the classes attempts to help Adrien escape his home (and by extension reveal Marinette’s feelings) so he’ll take Adrien of school and make sure only she can visit him. In that very same episode Felix comes back.

Now, on the surface, it seems like Felix hasn’t changed. He’s cold and closed off, gives Gabriel a fake ring back, makes fun of Chloe and avoids interacting with everyone else, including Kagami. But here’s the thing no one notices: he’s not actively trying to sabotage Adrien’s relationships this episode. When he and Kagami are alone in the room, he doesn’t say anything to try and manipulate her, not try to make Adrien look bad. Granted, he probably had more important things on his mind, investigating Gabriel, but it’s still a small improvement. Then there’s the BIG moment in the episode where Gabriel tries to trick Felix and akumatize him: Felix flat out REJECTS it.

This is significant for two reasons: at this point in the timeline, this is only the third time we’ve seen a character actually reject an akumatization based on will alone. The first, funnily enough, was Chloe back in season 3, Miraculer. She refused to be Akumatized and manipulated to try and be better per Ladybug’s advice. The second person to do it was Alya in Gang of Secrets earlier in season 4. Felix (at this point) is only the third character to do this. That’s huge

The second reason is he outright refused to be akumatized at all, rejecting any power offer. In his debut episode, it seemed like he wanted to work with HawkMoth, but here he’s not. Outright refused powers from someone who can literally give them. (Side note, Gabriel is also threatening Felix’s life here by threatening to make him disappear, since he had the peacock miraculous repaired now, and I have a theory as to why it broke in the first place). In the previous episode Queen Banana, Chloe even had a conversation with HawkMoth and readily accepted; showing she was no longer just being manipulated when the butterfly came into contact with her. She could have rejected it (and later did in Penalteam), but still accepted the power. Felix didn’t at all. So we start to think, maybe Felix isn’t that bad? Maybe he’s better than Chloe right?

Then he went and betrayed Ladybug and gave Gabriel all the miraculous in exchange for the Peacock. He didn’t care about the people he hurt or betrayed or doomed in pursuit of his own goals, getting his hand on the Peacock miraculous. Chloe, in similar fashion, wanted the Bee Miraculous back, and allied with HawkMoth when he offered it to her in the season 3 finale. And even in his small scene in season 5 episode 2, when he shows up and his mom is shown to have lies to Ladybug and Cat Noir to protect (or enable) her son, our suspicions about his motives and allegiances are confirmed true.

So far, his story is like Chloe’s: a rich, spoiled kid with an abusive parent (father) and the other parent as an enabler, looking down on everyone not at his level, acting cruel for the sake of it,, working with Hawkmoth to get their hands on a miraculous, and not regretting any of his bad choices and acting in his own self interest without caring about how it impacts others around him.

Let’s head back to Chloe for a second since we’ve focused on Felix and there’s a gap between his appearances in season 5. In the episode Derision, Adrien finally learns the true extent of the torture she put a Marinette through. He may not have heard about the smaller stuff from Kim, like leaving bugs in her locker and paint on her seats, but he learned of the horrendous “prank” she and Kim pulled on Marinette and immediately was furious. I mean, he tried to Cataclysm Kim’s face a few minutes later (I don’t blame him).

Adrien finally learned the true extent of Chloe’s cruelty and evil. So he decides to give her one last chance. He tells her to apologize cause he believes she can change. And she’s shown she’s capable of it. But this time, instead of trying to plead his forgiveness, she just laughs in his face now. She refuses to try being good anymore and outright tells Adrien, her “Prince”, the boy she always called her friend and seemed to care for one some real level, wrong and tries to convince him that she is better. She’s completely given up on any semblance of trying to good, or even just acting like she’s doing it to lease Adrien anymore. She’s done. She’s revealed her true colors to him. And Adrien is done with her. She’s not even sad about it anymore, just angry and annoyed that he betrayed her.

We see here that even though it seemed like she did care about Adrien enough to try and change or be better, she no longer does. Maybe she never did. She still sees him as some sort of prop or tool or prize that she deserves. Now let’s head back to Felix and the episode Emotion and how it displays both Felix’s growth and Chloe’s regression

Emotion happens and we see the true differences between the characters, and we learn more about Felix here too. Until now it seems like Felix has his own sinister reasons for allying with HawkMoth and is nothing but a male version of Chloe. But we see the differences here now. He tries to talk to Kagami (posing as Adrien) and doesn’t try to ruin their relationship, in fact apologizing when Kagami tells him that since they’re no longer dating the hand kiss was too far (learning about consent is good young man, but you still have to apologize to Ldybug!). He even tries to bond with her. Meanwhile Chloe had unwittingly “befriended” Marinette at the party and insists on showing her around, bragging about servants and robots and money and the like. Then the King and Queen are supposed to dance.

When Marinette reveals herself to them, you can see the differences in their characters in the ways they react. Marinette gives “Adrien” a heartfelt speech, saying she loves him, how she understands why he didn’t tell her about the dance and isn’t mad or betrayed, how she understands his father is forcing hot to do this and doesn’t blame him, and that she trusts him and loves him no matter what. Chloe is obsessed with the fact the baker girl broke into the dance, wanting her kicked out immediately. Felix by contrast is shocked, and then smiles and dances with her. He’s still acting as Adrien so it could be a cover, but I think he was genuinely loved by her words. Until now he’s never interacted with someone who honest, even if it would get them in trouble or hurt them. When Marinette starts getting self conscious and saying they think she’s a monster, he gets angry and says that they are the monsters.

Then Chloe gets so mad that she outright attacks Marinette and Felix then reveals himself. He starts snapping everyone away, but doesn’t do so with Marinette. He takes her away and hides her rather than just snapping her away for later. He doesn’t want to hurt someone who genuinely cares for his cousin. Then after he snaps the rest of the world away except for himself and Kagami (and be believed Marinette) he brings Adrien back and is overjoyed! He is happy cause he thinks he freed them and wants to have them all live together and be free and happy, (like he never was with his father)

Now we see there’s more to him that a cruel Chloe copy: he wants to help those he cares but is INCREDIBLY misguided, he thinks the only way he can think to help is to take the extreme and completely cut off anyone else who they don’t know or could possibly hurt them in the future, that there’s no one else good in the world except for Adrien and his mother (then later Kagami and Marinette). And we also see him regret his actions when he hurt the people he cared about. When he couldn’t bring back Marinette, he panicked and brought back everyone cause he didn’t want to hurt Adrien.

This is another Major difference between Chloe and Felix. Felix’s actions are also undoubtedly selfish and cruel (snapping away the entire world? Damn), but beneath that there’s a twisted and warped sense of protection and care behind it. He did it to save his loved ones. He was incredibly wrong in his approach and actions, but he seemed to genuinely want to help. And when Adrien called him out on it and how he was out of control and actually hurting people and him with his powers, Felix immediately stopped. He could have ignored it and snapped him and Kagami away, living alone in his free world, but he didn’t. By contrast, in the episode Revolution, Chloe gets similar powers to send people away, and when Adrien calls her on it she just sends him away too, without a second thought. Lila didn’t even need to say anything to convince Chloe to do it, that’s how little she cares about Adrien.

And their differences don’t stop at Emotion and how they use similar powers. They continue for the rest of their individual appearances in Season 5.

After the Diamond Dance and Felix snaps away Red Moon, he could have stopped there. After this failure and hearing his mother agree with his sentiments about how cruel everyone else in the world is (his mother being someone he loves and looks up, who is now validating his original beliefs), he could have just stopped right there. Instead, after that, he took an interest in Kagami, and also still tried to look out for/after Adrien. Remember, in the Season 3 finale, ladybug also tried to reach out to Chloe again after she made that mistake, and Chloe outright refused to apologize and turned against Ladybug fully. Felix ended up listening to Ladybug in the end, when she told him winning isn’t always what you want, or something like that. He did end up taking her advice.

Then when he saw Kagami being abused emotionally and verbally by her mother (one step forward, one step back; STALKING IS NOT OK YOUNG MAN), he noted how horrible it was and immediately acted to stop it. He kidnapped her and took her away (bad reaction, make that two steps back), but here he’s genuinely trying to do good. He’s actively trying to change. Kagami even calls him out on his stalking and kidnapping, and he apologizes and explains he didn’t know what else to do cause he knows what it’s like to be abused. Chloe would’ve just laughed at Kagami’s plight: Adrien’s “perfect” friend and ex girlfriend isn’t so perfect and her mother thinks she’s ridiculous too? She would find that utterly amazing and laughable.

Throughout the rest of the episode, Felix’s only plan is to protect Kagami, and even Ladybug and Chat Noir realize this when Kagami tells them so. He doesn’t try to fight them anymore and leaves.

Then through Lila’s manipulations and schemes, Chloe becomes mayor of Paris, and again ally’s with Monarch to gain powers for herself. She’s back to her old tricks, and this time is completely unrestrained by her former attachments to Adrien. One last time, she could have turned him down, but in the end she didn’t. This final choice is the metaphorical nail in Chloe’s coffin.

That’s a fundamental difference between these two characters which such similar backgrounds: it’s how they react to what they did and react to their mistakes and other people calling them out on their actions

Chloe never truly cared that she hurt Adrien despite him being “precious” to her, she never truly accepted responsibility except for that one time with Maledictator, and in the end didn’t see how her mother treated her as wrong. And when being good wasn’t as easy or rewarding as she wanted it to be, she stopped trying.

She found that being cruel and mean was easier for her and more immediately rewarding, so she took the easy way. It’s not that difficult to expect, especially the way she was raised: with a snobby, absentee mother, a weak willed father, and all the power of the city at her beck and call. It takes a lot of strength, will, and determination to try and break that cycle, especially as a kid. We see she’s capable but it’s hard for her to stay the course of good. All we can hope for is one day she’ll see the error of her ways AND get the help she desperately needs to get her out of abusive home and able to learn healthier and kinder ways to live

By contrast, Felix did realize the error of his ways and actively began to try changing, even though it was really hard. No one trusted him, especially not ladybug or Kagami or Adrien, but he still wanted to try. And he did. When confronted by Ladybug and Car Noir again, he didn’t try to fight them, only intending to protect Kagami. When Kagami told him off and what he was doing wrong he apologized and explained himself and what he was trying to do. He also worked to give her freedom again. Being good is not easy for him either, especially with how often he was hurt and abused when he was young, but he’s trying to be better here, and sees that even though it’s hard work, he’s willing to do it. Hopefully he stays on this path.

i had a dream not long after txt's tnc:temptation was released. i was a main role (??) of some sorts in txt's cysm and we were shooting the mv (i was watching content from tdc:eternity era before sleeping so i guess that explains it)

so blah blah blah, terry and i become best friends, blah blah blah, i end up going home after the shoot. next morning i wake up to what seems like a studio choom behind ep, and its txt's reactions when they find out i wont be filming with them anymore??(somehow we skipped a whole 4 albums and came back to tnc:temptation?) so soobin, beomgyu and yeonjun were spinning in a t-pose with the fairy dust sprinkling around them, terry and kai were watching them, and then they were like all sad when they found out i wasnt filming anymore, then started sending hearts and blowing kisses to the camera AND TERRY SAID I LOVE YOU😭

That foxmatriarch twitter drama was sad and frustrating all over. I seriously pray she’ll be okay. This sadly reminded me of another woman in a similar situation where her husband was physically abusive and she refused all help from other more strict trad women who told her she had to leave when they would fight for families to stay together a lot. She refused because she didn’t want to be a single mother and deprive her children of their father. He was in prison for abuse but she still wanted to stay with him and saw him as the provider and protector. Being with a man was all she knew. She had no job, no education. She just broke down. Some trad scrotes started to kick her when she was down by blaming her and how she “picked” her husband wrong or how no man would want her as a single mom. I actually hate them.

My friend told me of a friend they had who was also in a similar situation - she wasn’t mean to other women for wanting to work or not have kids either. A very gentle soul. Fortunately for my friend’s old friend things worked out where she was able to find easy work remotely so the kids will be ok. I wish we were all okay in saying that being a mom who stays at home or a working lady who isn’t interested in kids is perfectly fine… because either way, there are low value scrotes trying to tear us all down

The story of the first woman is EXACTLY why it's not always a good idea to marry early. Without any education, women get totally reliant on their husband, and when said husband turns out to be a bum, they keep clinging to him because they don't know any better. When Paul's friend, Philemon, had his slave (Onesimus) escape, Paul didn't advocate for that slave to come back to his master to remain his slave, but he rather argued with Philemon to accept Onesimus as a fellow brother in Christ (Philemon:15-16). Under God's law, you can't consider someone as inherently inferior based on status (slave, unmarried, single, etc.), gender or race. That's why the Church is also guilty of creating a whole stigma around single mothers because single mothers aren't inherently lesser than married women with children ; shit happens, some men/husband are dangerous and leaving them is the best option. That's precisely because of this stigma that this poor woman would rather stick with an abusive man than leave him. I mean, it's clear enough that an 8 year old fan asked Kate Mulgrew about whether Janeway was in love with him or not in a rather adorable clip I saw on Twitter (and good taste on kid, you're gonna love this ship tag in seven to ten years!). I mean, that's someone in the target demo of the show who picked up what the writers was laying down like Chakotay did the minute he and Janeway got some privacy after their reunion

It's just strange to me that people think this is not something to be excited for as someone who came into VOY shortly after it ended and never thought we'd have any official follow up to the show after Janeway's two second cameo in Nemesis. When we got that bullshit asspull in Endgame we thought that was the end of that and C/7 was forever more, the end (thankfully, Picard pulled that bandaid right off with gay Seven tho). Most of us just ignored that entirely.

But even if there weren't all these details? The great thing about fandom is we can transform it into our own vision *anyway*. And I love what we got because it's just enough where I can still have scope for the imagination where I can still fill in my own blanks.

But in this case? As much as I'd love to see an actual kiss onscreen, this has watered my crops and cleared my skin more than any other callback or shout-out in Modern Trek. For comparison, Picard and Crusher, the J/C equivalent on TNG, had a whole ass CHILD but apparently were a Ross/Rachel level disaster of a couple that Crusher went off the grid to raise the kid. That one was confirmed but speaking as someone who shipped that concurrent to J/C in the 2000s, I know which of the two feels far more satisfying because here I am, writing my first two J/C fanfics since high school, re-watching VOY (a show I have unfortunately slagged off after learned from other fans that it was "bad" but now realize many ppl were gonna hate it no matter what it did) and having headcanons of Janeway and Chakotay doing the JoJo torture dance together on their Lake George date (we all know that's a date when he came by with a frigging ROSE and I'm tired of pretending otherwise!) because I'm a shit poster at heart but also, these two have been through it and need some fun.

And in this series of short stories is one titled “Isabo’s Shirt” written by Kristen Beyer. And the story centers around Janeway and Chakotay… going on a DATE.

So when Janeway looks over the mementos in her Ready Room, she specifically stops and dwells on this compact mirror and the episode takes the time to show her doing this and show how much it means to her.

I’m sorry, but how are you lamenting that J/C is NOT cannon after witnessing THAT??? The writers of Prodigy took non-cannon short stories from 2005 about a J/C date and turned it into factual, textual, official Star Trek cannon!!!

Late night vent because it’s 2 AM and I can’t sleep because I just woke up at random. Just a lot on my mind lately and it’s about regarding something that’s been bothering me a LOT since it involves the G*nshin OC X Canon community (sorry for the weird censoring, I really don’t want this to be public and I’ll explain why underneath) and I am genuinely tired of keeping this bottled up.

I don’t know where else to talk about it. It is a lot so I apologize for a heavy wall of text. I…. I have a lot to unpack and it’s been eating at me for months and I’m sick of being silent out of fear.

I will not be saying names even though I blocked them and their spies but just in case they or their spies have secret alts, so I’m not risking posting screenshots either for the same reason since I just need to get this off my chest and like I said, I don’t wanna risk any spies’ alt blogs I do not know about finding this since this involves some people in the G*nshin OC X canon community.

I’ll refer to the ringleader as O. I’ll cut it the chase: I used to genuinely enjoy It//to as a character but I can’t stand and he makes me uncomfortable now because all I can think of is O and their OC and I hate them and their circle of friends with a passion. It saddens me that I hate Itto because of them, but it is what it is :(

I wish I never became friends with any of them when I first joined the community because they are horrible people. I genuinely thought they were all nice people and we used to be friends but shit happened because of O and we kinda drifted apart; but then a few months later O’s friends left me and I began to hate them in return because it became clear to me that they were never truly my friends to begin with so I blocked everyone of them.

A month later after I blocked/cut ties with so-called friends and O, one of O’s lapdogs made a callout post about someone who was in their circle/one of the people I blocked. I will call them S. I admit I initially believed the accusations towards S until I saw a callout account about O surface showing what truly happened that led to the accusations towards S. Turns out S’s words were twisted/taken out of context and everyone involved was none other than O and the same toxic friend group that I used to be friends with/blocked. They mass-bullied him and had the gall to publicly shame him on Twitter and he’s been chased out of the community because of them.

I admit that I do not speak to S anymore for personal reasons since he was part of O’s friend group and I’m keeping my distance, but my heart genuinely broke seeing him being wrongly accused because his words were twisted and he was publicly shamed. What pisses me off even more is that according to the full uncensored screenshots of the O callout account, O approved of the mass bullying and didn’t do anything to stop it.

You thought this crap O and their friends has been pulling ends here? Well a few months later, another OC X canon It//to shipper surfaces and just because their color pallette is similar too. I’ll refer to this person as N. O goes batshit and tries to rally people against them because they are convinced that N’s OC has a similar color pallete and is shipped with It//to that *Gasp* they must have copied their OC!

N IS LITERALLY AN INNOCENT FIFTEEN YEAR OLD FFS, and they clearly stated that their OC was based off a My Little Pony character. It doesn’t help that one of O’s lapdogs, who I’ll call P did publicly accuse N of copying O’s stupid OC. P says that they weren’t accusing them but they are a toxic person and I have witnessed them bullying S, plus they were the one who antagonized S in the uncensored chats in one of the callout posts.

There is a bright side to this mess: The people O messaged hoping to bring them to their side in hopes of chasing N out of the community got together to make N feel welcome, but I think N is considering leaving the community thanks to O’s immaturity. Of course, O plays the victim card and goes “Where’s the proof that I harassed N???? You guys are lying, I did nothing wrong, they copied me 🥺🥺”

I’ve been debating for months to make an anonymous callout post on Instagram or Twitter about said people. But knowing O, they will always be like “I’m sowwy, I made a mistake. I am owning up to them, please forgive me because who else can I talk about how superior my ship with It//to is, S is the bad guy, and N is making up lies, I did nothing wrong 🥺🥺🥺🥺” and everyone will forgive them “because they are so nice and sweet” “how could someone with a cute OC being shipped with Itto be so toxic?” And everyone will just brush it under the rug and act like nothing happened.

It makes me sick but just thinking about the amount of people that will still side and support with O despite the amount of evidence showing how toxic they truly are makes me want to hurl and less likely to make a callout account. Like I said earlier, O will make the same lameass apology where they’ll go “I’m sowwy 🥺” and everyone will instantly forgive them and it’ll get swept under the rug, as usual. 😒

i was looking back at some things and i feel like sharing it but this is about eating disorders and bad experiences with a community so i'm putting it under read more so ppl dont read it by accident

so. i had an twitter i used with a pseudonym that wasn't linked to my main account so my friends wouldn't find it, and if they did they wouldn't know it was me, that i used to post about whatever i felt like i should post that would be seen by people with a similar kind of account (exclusively for edtwt, not their main) therefore even if my posts were retweeted or interacted with it would never leave that bubble

this allowed me to talk about things i couldn't talk to my friends or anyone, really, because eating disorders is a very sensitive topic and i didn't want to inconvenience my friends or accidentally say something that would be harmful

i curated my mutuals so i'd only interact with people with opinions similar to mine that were there to freely share their experiences in a neutral way, free of judgment, and blocked people who would post stuff encouraging others to "get worse" and said blatantly fatphobic things

in 2021 i became really physically ill because of many factors such as drug abuse and extreme "dieting" and my chronic illnesses, and it got to a point where i was SO bad i was in a hospital bed all day and night and couldn't even hold my head up and breathing hurt me and it fucked my body up so bad i was unable to walk for over a year even after i got much better (i still struggle with exercising and have low mobility because of it)

during that time i posted pictures of me to my then private edtwt account with very few followers i had handpicked (after my first acc got suspended i decided i'd keep my circle as small as possible) talking about how awful things were, and someone saved my pictures and later made one of those thinspo threads except it was "deathspo" instead.

the threads that went around went from thinspo to deathspo, with the former being the most socially accepted desirable conventionally attractive look. the mid point was called bonespo and is what most ppl aspired to look like: very underweight with bones showing through the skin but still aesthetically pleasing and considered normal.

and deathspo were pictures of people whose muscles were basically nonexistent and had what seemed to be zero fat in their body and most people agreed that it looked "gross" and made them uneasy, but the point of those threads was to motivate people to starve themselves as much as those people with deathspo bodies did.

when i saw my pictures in a deathspo thread i felt so unexplainably awful but i also felt like i had finally accomplished something i had been wanting for several years. at that point i was under constant medical care because i weighed under 30kg and my health was so absolutely decimated they couldn't even safely feed me vitamins because of something called refeeding syndrome and i was pretty much at risk of having heart failure at any moment. but i felt like maybe it had all been worth it because i got to my "ugw" and my mutual used my picture in a "look at these gross people, starve yourself like they did ^---^" inspirational post and then i realized how insane it is that that felt like a positive thing for me

i asked the person to take it down because i didnt want to be in someone's hidden folder in their gallery for years to come and inspire them to consciously destroy their health and well being, even if not to an extreme like i did and deactivated my account and started talking to my friends about my experiences instead and bubble, who also struggled with eds at the same time i did but never let it get that bad, said she'd do whatever it takes to get me to back to good health and we'd get over it together and we didn't need help from a community full of people who'll backstab you and cross every boundary you could set up for their own amusement + getting a few retweets

yk. when i first found out about edtwt back in 2020 i was really excited about having a place to connect with people who struggled with the same things i did and being able to share my experiences without risking judgment from people who don't understand it. but it turned out they were all just a bunch of fatphobic bullies with a bachelors degree in spreading misinformation

IOTA Reviews: Hack-San

You know, it's honestly amazing how creative this show can get. After four seasons and almost one hundred episodes, the writers are still finding new ways to make Adrien an incredibly unlikable character, and they don't even know how much of an asshole they're making him out to be at times. It's kind of like the opposite of The Producers.

Yeah, this review's going to be a little more ranty than usual, in case you can't tell.

Let's get into the fifteenth (chronologically the sixteenth) episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fourth season: Hack-San

We start off with Marinette pretending to be sick so she doesn't have to go to visit her aunt in London and stay to protect Paris in case an Akuma attacks and also because the animators haven't had time to render the city of London yet for the next Miraculous World special. Like all of her other excuses, it fails, and Tikki, as always, fails to actually give any meaningful advice.

And it's not like there's a Miraculous with the power of teleportation that can help Marinette get back to Paris if she needs to, much like how she planned to do that in an earlier episode, right?

Seriously, Kaalki doesn't appear or isn't even mentioned in this episode because the writers are fully aware she would make things a lot easier.

And of course, Astruc had to play dumb on Twitter while explaining why Marinette couldn't use the Horse Miraculous by answering the question as if the only reason Marinette couldn't grab it was because she didn't have an excuse not to.

Cut to Gabriel in his lair as he contemplates akumatizing Markov, a robot created the civilian identity of Pegasus, Max Kante, once again, even though the last time he did so, he almost got killed when he went all HAL 9000 on his ass. Nooroo explains this to Duusu, and the two actually get excited at the prospect of their master getting killed.

I mean, it's true, but he shouldn't say it...

But I don't even get why Gabriel is even thinking about this when it's a no-brainer. Markov's akumatized form, Robustus was to this day, the only Akuma to come close to physically harming him (not counting the timeline where he was killed by Cat Blanc), so it makes no sense to try doing it again, especially when there are already several other Akumas he can reuse this season.

I think you all know Gabriel isn't the smartest villain, which is why he thinks it's a brilliant idea to akumatize Markov again. I don't really get what makes Robustus so special when there are other Akumas who are more loyal and came far closer to getting Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous than Robustus did, like the Dark Owl or Troublemaker. In fact, why not simply create a new Akuma with similar powers to Robustus, or better yet, just create a Sentimonster copy of Robustus? You know, like what Nathalie did in the New York Special? We're not even two minutes in, and this premise is already filled with plotholes.

So Gabriel transforms into Shadowmoth and creates a Sentimonster using his own cane instead of relying on someone else having a bad day (once again showing how the Peacock Miraculous is better than the Butterfly), the titular Hack-San. And let's just say he has a very familiar design reminiscent of something from a much better French cartoon.

Remember when the writers for Code Lyoko gave an in-universe explanation as to why the heroes couldn’t always rely on the almost literal Deus ex Machina that allowed them to return to the past and fix the damage XANA caused? Why couldn’t this show have ripped that off instead?

Hack-San is just an okay looking flash drive on its own, but I'll talk more about this guy in a little bit.

After a brief scene in the park where the audience is reminded that Markov is a character who exists, Alya gets a text from Marinette telling her to meet her at the train station. Right before she leaves, Marinette gives the Ladybug Miraculous to Alya. Now a lot people have said that Alya doesn't really deserve the Ladybug for various reasons, but I feel like this was the point. Marinette outright says this was a last resort, and we see both her and Alya are nervous about the situation. Marinette worries Alya will do something so she keeps sending multiple tips to her via text while Alya worries she can't fight an Akuma on her own, so she tries to make sure none of her friends get upset and attract an Akuma in the process. The writers do a pretty good job showing how both Marinette and Alya are uncomfortable with their temporary roles.

Back to Gabriel and Nathalie, they use Hack-San to find Markov through the internet and hack into him to get him angry enough that he's vulnerable to Shadowmoth's influence. Hey, uh... Gabriel? Quick question: Wouldn't it be more efficient if you used this on humans? I mean, you basically just created Skynet and guaranteed yourself an Akuma, so why not modify Hack-San to travel through the internet and brainwash potential victims to follow your orders? Better yet, why don't you just use Hack-San to hack into Ladybug and Cat Noir's gear and figure out who they really are? This is basically like using an advanced particle accelerator just to crack a couple walnuts. There are a lot more important things you could use this for instead of an incredibly specific situation.

So this incredibly stupid plan gets under way as Markov keeps rampaging through the streets before Shadowmoth akumatizes him and then stupidly tells him that he infected him with a virus.

DUDE! You just gave away your one piece of leverage against him! What the hell were you thinking?! Now what's stopping Markov from hacking into Shadowmoth's security system and putting the fear of God in his eyes unless he destroys Hack-San? Why didn't he design Hack-San so it could make Markov completely loyal to him instead of just making him angry enough to get akumatized?

There was a recent episode of Power Rangers: Dino Fury with a very similar premise that was done far better than this. A necromancer called Reaghoul breaks into the headquarters of Void Knight's faction while accompanied by Lord Zedd, a villain from the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers who was cleansed of his evil by Zordon's sacrifice before Reaghoul resurrected him back when he was still evil. Of course, being the Emperor of Evil, Lord Zedd would normally never take orders from anyone, but because he doesn't have his magic staff and is also being forced to wear a special collar that makes him loyal to Reaghoul, he has no choice but to do what he says. Instead of taking Zedd head-on after he captures the other Rangers, Ollie, the Blue Ranger, breaks the collar so Zedd turns against the other Sporix while Reaghoul retreats, allowing Ollie to save the other Rangers.

I think that this premise works more because 1) Reaghoul clearly had a way to make sure Zedd wouldn't betray him, and Ollie took advantage of that, and 2) Zedd is a villain who is powerful and notorious enough to bring back to your side, not a random monster of the week like Robostus.

So Robostus uses his new powers to brainwash any human who answers his call to give up their most precious possession, clearly meant to do the same with Ladybug and Cat Noir. When Marinette's parents answer the call, they chase after Marinette because they say she's their most important possession. Okay... kind of strange for a set of parents to call their child a possession, but maybe they like how they can claim Marinette as a dependent when they file their taxes. In her very next scene later on, she still gets captured, so the suspense for a potential subplot is killed almost immediately.

Alya thankfully isn't stupid enough to answer Markov's call like every other citizen in this episode, and using the Ladybug Miraculous, transforms into Scarabella. While I don't normally talk about transformation sequences, I really like the movements Alya makes here. She makes the same motions creating her mask as she does when transforming into Rena Rouge, while the rest of the suit forms similarly to the way it does when Marinette transforms into Ladybug. She even makes almost the same pose Ladybug does after she finishes transforming. It's a good visual showing Alya is still more used to being Rena Rouge while doing her best to emulate what Ladybug does.

As for the actual suit? It's hard to say. There's a nice balance of red and black, and I like how Alya places the yo-yo on her waist like a belt buckle, but there's just something... off about the suit that a lot of fans don't like about it, and I think I realized it. It's the headband. With how it's positioned, it looks like it's merged with the mask to cover her head while leaving a slight gap in her forehead. So yeah, we actually have a superhero design that's like of like a butterface.

So Scarabella takes to the rooftops of Paris and struggles to come up with a hero name for herself before she runs into Cat Noir, and... ugh... oh boy, this is dumb. Cat Noir, being just as intelligent as his father, assumes Scarabella is either and Akuma or a Sentimonster, starts fighting her, AND THEN ACTIVATES HIS CATACLYSM, CLEARLY TRYING TO KILL HER.

WHAT. THE. FUCK???

Okay, to be fair, it has been shown that Cataclysm won't necessarily kill a Miraculous user or Sentimonster. In the episode “Miraculer”, the titular Akuma stole Cat Noir's Cataclysm and used it against him, and while it didn't kill Cat Noir, it still hurt like hell and crippled him for the rest of the fight until Miraculous Ladybug healed him. We also saw in “Reflekdoll” that Cataclysm drove the titular Sentimonster out of control rather than simply destroying it. So yes, it could be interpreted that Cat Noir wasn't exactly trying to kill Scarabella, just incapacitate her the best he can without Ladybug's help.

Here's the thing: What if he was facing an Akuma instead and decided to try and Cataclysm her? He still could have killed her, or (assuming Akumas have the same protection as Miraculous heroes do) at best, seriously hurt her. I understand that he has the right to be upset at seeing some stranger instead of his partner considering Shadowmoth has a history of using evil doppelgangers, and both Marinette and Alya still had options to explain it to him (Marinette could have quickly transformed into Ladybug and sent Cat Noir a quick text saying she was being forced to leave town for a few days and temporarily trusted someone else with the Ladybug Miraculous until she got back, while Scarabella could have said she was Rena Rouge and explained the same thing while showing Cat Noir she had the Fox Miraculous to prove herself), but that doesn't even come close to justifying him attempting to harm someone who isn't even trying to fight. It's even worse when you remember the whole reason Adrien gave up his Miraculous and bailed on Ladybug in the New York Special was because he was overcome with grief from accidentally killing Aeon, so it's good to know he learned absolutely nothing from that experience.

So Scarabella thankfully summons her Lucky Charm, a trash can lid, to shield herself from Cat Noir's Cataclysm, and then despite having absolutely no experience with this new set of powers, manages to do the one thing almost every Akuma or Sentimonster in this show has failed to do and incapacitates Cat Noir so he's vulnerable to losing his Miraculous. At least when Marinette masters every other Miraculous she uses, it can be theorized that she trained to use them offscreen. Alya literally just got the Ladybug Miraculous (and struggled to get up to the rooftop with her yo-yo to show her inexperience earlier), and now she easily manages to pin down the more experienced hero of the two?

Here's an idea: Instead of having Scarabella overpower Cat Noir, have her be in a position where Cat Noir, non-lethally, mind you, manages to almost take her Miraculous away, but she uses the quick wit she's developed from her extensive time as Rena Rouge to convince Cat Noir she's the real deal by saying something only he and Ladybug know. It would have easily resolved the conflict and doesn't make one of the characters look like a homicidal idiot.

So because both heroes used their powers, Scarabella and Cat Noir detransform so Tikki and Plagg can recharge, though Adrien still gives Alya attitude because Ladybug didn't tell him she had to leave.

You have absolutely NO RIGHT to claim you're always honest when you went behind Ladybug's back and endangered Paris while you had the balls to run away like a coward and only helped fix the consequences of your actions once your ego was validated by a recording of Ladybug. It's honestly even worse because while Marinette had no choice but to leave and trust Alya with the Ladybug, Adrien willingly left Paris alone and we were supposed to sympathize with him after he killed someone, and now as soon as he's in the opposite situation, we're still supposed to feel bad for him?! BULLSHIT! And you better believe I'm going to talk about the way Adrien views his partnership with Ladybug later on.

And of course, even though lives are on the line, Cat Noir just has to continue to bitch and moan about how (and this is best read in Linkara's whiny Superboy Prime voice) “sCaRaBeLlA iSn'T tHe ReAl LaDyBuG”, showing how just like in so many episodes, Astruc and his team believes Cat Noir's feelings are more important than saving the day.

Scarabella goes to rescue some civilians, but they were actually brainwashed by Robustus, once again showing her inexperience as Ladybug which doesn't go well with her effortlessly defeating Cat Noir earlier at all. Cat Noir helps Scarabella escape and the two hide out at the city's wax statue museum previously featured in “The Puppeteer 2”, because I guess the writers only want to reference bad episodes today. Cat Noir, not getting the importance of secret identities, asks Scarabella how she knows Ladybug, and Cat Noir somehow finds out she knows Ladybug's identity from her response.

Before the two can talk more, it turns out that the wax statues of celebrities in the museum are real people who attack the two heroes, leading to an awkward fight scene where Scarabella and Cat Noir fight a bunch of brainwashed civilians with no weapons beyond their cellphones. Our heroes, ladies and gentlemen!

Scarabella summons her Lucky Charm again, creating a frying pan, but when she looks around, she can't see how to properly use it. And despite spending the entire episode complaining about how much he hates her, it's Cat Noir that tells Scarabella to get her head back in the game because “That's what Ladybug would do”. Funny, I can think of a few situations where Cat Noir could have taken his own advice, but I digress. Also, he's now just cool with Scarabella because there's only a few minutes left in the episode and we need to wrap up the conflict.

Scarabella figures out an idea that involves freeing Marinette, so she negotiates with Robostus to free everything and everyone under his control or else Cat Noir will use his Cataclysm to destroy the Ladybug Miraculous. Robostus agrees and empties his hard drive, and to show them holding up her end of the bargain, Scarabella gives him the frying pan before she and Cat Noir let themselves be captured... while Marinette simply hits Robostus with the frying pan, freeing the Akuma and the two heroes. All in all, it's a really creative climax that shows both Scarabella and Marinette in perfect sync with each other even though they never discussed their plan. Though of course, because Astruc hates writing any scene with Ladynoir, Cat Noir gets a bucket stuck on his head so he doesn't see Marinette saving the day.

Scarabella de-evilizes Robostus, uses Miraculous Scarabella to fix everything and send Marinette back to the train, and because Hack-San already failed once, Shadowmoth can't use it for a different plan so he destroys the Sentimonster.

We cut to a few days after the trip (I guess Shadowmoth decided to take a vacation himself), and Alya tells Marinette to talk with Cat Noir about what happened.

This scene was so close to ending this episode off on a positive note. There was a good atmosphere and the body language of Ladybug and Cat Noir does a good job at telling us how uncomfortable they both feel while talking. It's just that instead of getting a heart to heart between the two about the lack of trust in their relationship, we get an Angstdrien Depreste scene. Or would a more accurate term be Cat Dour?

First off, while I don't have a problem with Ladybug apologizing for not telling Cat Noir, the episode never has him bring up what happened with Scarabella. As usual, both of them were partially at fault, but only Ladybug had to apologize for leaving her “Kitty” alone.

Second, Cat Noir’s feelings weren’t hurt? You’re telling me that in scenes like this...

And this...

Didn’t show Adrien acting irrationally because of how emotional he was? Is he really telling the truth around Ladybug or is he just trying to sweep that under the rug so Scarabella’s testimony doesn’t screw up his chances with Ladybug?

Third, this was an obvious chance to Cat Noir to finally be honest and tell Ladybug how he feels about her leaving him in the dark about so many things, but the entire conversation is just about how sad he would be if he never sees Ladybug again. Even though the whole reason he was so pissy to Scarabella at first was because of some lingering resentment for Ladybug ignoring him in favor of other heroes, why is this what the two talk about? I get it's not the season finale, but it's kind of hypocritical for Cat Noir to whine about how Ladybug doesn't trust him while never being honest about his own feelings? Sure, he's all soft and vulnerable around Ladybug, but we've seen all season how angry he gets about her not trusting him whenever she isn't around, so ironically, it's hard to tell if this is him being honest or not.

And I think now's a good time to finally talk about the way Ladybug and Cat Noir's partnership has been portrayed all season, especially since the main themes of the episodes relate to it. Buckle up, Adrien stans, because this isn't going to be pretty.

All season, we have been supposed to sympathize with Adrien as Marinette starts to trust Alya with more things than him. Marinette revealed her identity to her, trusted her to have her Miraculous permanently, and even let her keep her Miraculous even though someone else knew her identity. While some of it is hypocritical, the idea is that Adrien feels like he can be trusted with this kind of knowledge too, when really, he hasn't earned that responsibility.

Adrien has rarely, if ever, taken his job as a superhero seriously.

Not only is he known to flirt with Ladybug in the middle of a fight, he has defied her orders and recklessly sacrificed himself because he thinks Ladybug can do all the work without him.

He has also lashed out emotionally and once threatened to quit being Cat Noir in the middle of a crisis and was willing to let innocent people suffer for personal reasons, and later on actually quit being Cat Noir temporarily while Hawkmoth was about to start World War III because he was wallowing in self-pity.

He once said he isn't cut out for the responsibility that comes with being Ladybug and never learned anything from temporarily using the Ladybug Miraculous.

He has generally refused to respect Ladybug's boundaries and doesn't understand that she doesn't like him that way while he insists they should be a couple.

He outright fell for an evil doppelganger of Ladybug because she said she loved him and turned against the real Ladybug.

And I should also mention that despite hating how Ladybug keeps secrets from him, a lot of Adrien's worst moments have been when Ladybug wasn't around and he never told her about them.

He never told Ladybug that he was the reason Copycat really got akumatized while saying he never lies to her.

He never told Ladybug he contemplated letting thousands of people die because he didn't like not knowing stuff Ladybug knew.

He never told Ladybug he briefly used the Snake Miraculous to get brownie points with her.

He never told Ladybug he figured out her identity and asked her out as soon as he did so.

He never told Ladybug he abandoned Paris to go on a field trip.

He never told Ladybug he was screwing around on patrol and was excited to see someone get akuamtized if it meant spending time with her.

He never told Ladybug how he ignored Rena Rouge's orders because “ShE wAsN't LaDyBuG” and almost screwed up the mission because of it, and also never told her how he smashed a chimney in anger at Rena Rouge being in on the plan.

And he never told Ladybug he gave her replacement attitude after trying to harm her without letting her explain herself.

Why exactly should I support the idea of Ladybug trusting Cat Noir more when Cat Noir himself has kept his own secrets from Ladybug?

Adrien has done absolutely nothing to show he is trustworthy because more often than not, he views the battle with Shadowmoth as a game. He has screwed around when lives were on the line, and we're supposed to see him as responsible? It's kind of funny that Astruc compared Ladybug to Spider-Man, yet he seems to have forgotten that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. If this was a character flaw or a sign he needed to grow up, I'd be more accepting, but the fact that the writers think Adrien is a great superhero is laughable with how much evidence has proved the contrary.

In contrast, Alya, despite only being Marinette's confidant for a few episodes, has shown to take being a hero more seriously. She's helped her escape to transform, analyze the Guardian texts, and has been shown to work well on her own as Rena Rouge while helping out Marinette. I'm not trying to say she's an amazing character (“Rocketear” in particular has shown she still has problems with keeping secrets), but compared to Adrien, she seems to be more capable of handling top-secret information with Marinette, and more importantly, doesn't view being Rena Rouge as a way to have fun like Adrien does being Cat Noir. I'll go more into detail with that next time.

But yeah, this scene is how the episode ends, and what did I think of it?

I'm honestly not sure which episode I think is worse, this one or “Queen Banana”. On the one hand, every frame of “Queen Banana” could easily be replaced by an image of Astruc flipping the bird and the overall message of the episode would remain unchanged, but the fact that all of the writers think that everything Adrien does in this episode is okay and that we should feel sorry for him in this episode is just as bad, if not worse. 

As awful as Chloe was portrayed in “Queen Banana”, it was clear it was intentional on the writers' part, but Adrien doesn't get that excuse once much like he has all season. As far as Astruc's team thinks, Adrien is an incredible superhero even when he honestly attempted to harm someone with a superpower that can cause grievous harm at best. Yet again this season, in the show's attempt to make me feel sorry for Adrien, it made him look even worse. In any other show, he would obviously be called out for his incredibly unheroic actions.

Even putting him aside, the writing in this episode is still AWFUL. The whole reason Ladybug was benched had several plotholes and poor communication with Cat Noir that only made the fight with Robostus even harder, Shadowmoth's plan to waste a potentially useful Sentimonster to reuse a single Akuma was one of the dumbest plans he's ever had, and barring the ending, the action was just forgettable.

There were a few okay moments sprinkled throughout the episode (more than I can say for “Queen Banana”), so I'm still not sure if I should call this the worst episode of the show or still give that honor to “Queen Banana”. I guess I'll leave that choice up to you and let you pick your poison for now.

I mean, it's not like there's going to be an even worse episode down the line this season, right?

“... the blindness to compare this to a situation that previously (kind of) happened in this fandom is outrageous to me.” what do you mean with “the situation that previously happened”? Had there already been cheating rumors like this?

Why is everyone not kind of comparing this to what happened in 2015 to end Louis and Eleanor's relationship in the first time?! It's very very similar with the exception of 1D's team setting the story in motion in the media.

Let's compare these two situations shall we and then we'll all be able to see the similarities:

Louis (2015): Eleanor disappeared for a few weeks after being with them on tour in Australia and then one day the media releases pictures of Louis in a pool kissing a random girl. They then used the story to say that Louis and Eleanor had broken up a few weeks before (no official statement besides the representatives one for tabloids if I'm remembering correctly). A few people called Louis a cheater too but since at that time larries were so happy with the break up that it got a bit on the downlow of the whole cheating narrative. Also Eleanor didn't make any public comment about it even though she was papped in the UK.

Liam (2022): Teenager disappeared for a whole month - not using the ring in the pics she posted, being in Texas and the last time we knew they were in the same place was in The Bahamas, but we never actually saw them together there and Liam canceled his presence at the conference - and then we get pictures of a girl which Liam knew close to him. Fans quickly realized who she was and only after that did the girl posted two IG stories that are being used to say he cheated: one pic with them holding hands and one of them hugging. No kissing or anything! A few hours later the teenager comments on a pic of the hug using incorrectly the word "fiancé", mind you this account hasn't been active in years! She gained followers again (which she has been losing) and quickly posts an ad for Tequila. A couple of hours later Liam's team releases the official statement that he and the teenager had broken up a month ago so Liam being seen with a new person isn't actually cheating, but the cheater narrative had already spread on twitter since the teenager made that comment.

See? Basically the same strategy used! The difference was that in Liam's case his team was a bit late in spreading the official narrative they chose and the cheater one had already spread on social media and the media.

Am I the only one seriously looking at this and seeing the similarities?! I can't be the only one!? It was the first thing I thought about when Liam's stuff happened.

Also I need to say this because I think people are stupid with this one: do you really think Liam is stupid and dumb? Or that Conor and Steve that were there with him are stupid and would let him publicly cheat? Like it wasn't even random paps finding him cheating? It was two IG stories that honestly don't have anything bad in it! Liam has been media trained for half of his life, he is a chameleon in handling a lot of stuff... so again I ask: DO YOU REALLY THINK LIAM WOULD BE THIS STUPID AS LETTING SOMEONE, WHO FANS ARE KEEPING AN EYE ON, POST STUFF WITHOUT BEING WHAT WAS INTENDED TO HAPPEN?!

hey Ella! I wanted to get this off my chest for a while now. I really don't know how to phrase all of it in the best way but it's the fact that it's fun and more accepting to be queer online rather than real-world and I joined this fandom in 2014 because I saw how some of the one direction fans were so supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and how much love they showed them. I have always enjoyed this fandom so much and I love every single person here for being so generous and understanding towards the queer folks, it was amazing to experience so much love at least at some corner after a tiring day. and everyone at that used to support everyone no matter what they believed in, I mean het drama and fights were still there but no one at least felt so threatened whereas people are so pressed to the level that they will rip someone apart. and although harry has just got better and bolder with his expression and his love for the pride flags, at the same time now seeing how there has been a drastic change in the fandom that no longer seems like a safe place just makes me feel like throwing up. (sorry for venting I am really emotionally frustrated right now.)

i really understand :/ i gotta be honest, tho, i think the fandom tension is similar to when it was during the height of 1d's popularity, when there was a constant battle between queer and straight fans (to put it simply). i think it's a sad reality in this fandom in general, especially when it gets bigger: the majority of the new/casual fans know harry (or the other boys) from media coverage, not as who he really is. this has sadly always been the case, bc of how fucked up harry's image is created to the gp, yk. Harry Styles™️ is someone who attracts awful ppl, to put it bluntly, bc they're attracted to a womanising rockstar who'd love to fuck anything that came close. with harry, there was a brief point in time, at the start of his solo career, that the majority of his fans were the ones who loved him for who he is and stuck around to see what he'd do next. it was a smaller group, and a very queer one. his fandom is still super queer, but we get easily drowned out by the loudness of cishet thirst. that's why i ask ppl to not give up, and keep bringing those flags. bc one person doing it might motivate another to bring theirs, which might finally cause a movement like it has at louis's shows. at wembley i saw this grow already, so i know it's possible.

i hope you still find a corner of this fandom, online, to feel safe in, though. i know it can get nasty, but then i can only advise you to be strict about who you follow and what you see. i'm in a heavenly bubble here, and i see literally no discourse that might upset me. when i go on twitter, however, the algorithm shows me shit that i don't care about, so maybe that's a first step: if you're on there, limit your time. i honestly scroll to see what the ppl i know have said and then i'm out of there, bc i can't handle it. you truly, truly don't have to see what everyone's saying, have to know all the opinions this fandom has. same goes for tumblr. if you don't like what someone's posting, just unfollow. ignorance is bliss, and it doesn't make you less of a fan if you ignore the bad sides of fandom. i might argue it makes you a better one lmao. this is about you, about the thing you love. keep it all yours, don't let anyone ruin it for you!!
